ICSSI 2026: CoM Hosts International Conference on Service Science, Innovation, and Sustainability
International scholars and participants at ICSSI 2026, hosted by NCHU College of Management.
The 2026 Conference on Service Science and Innovation (ICSSI 2026) concluded successfully at the College of Management, National Chung Hsing University. For CoM, the event was far more than an academic conference — it was a comprehensive effort combining scholarly curation, cross-disciplinary dialogue, international hospitality, and local engagement.
Organized around the theme "Technology, Inclusivity, Environment, Sustainability (TIES)," the conference reflected months of preparation by the CoM team, spanning program design, thematic planning, hosting international scholars, venue coordination, student team training, and cultural-visit arrangements. The goal was for every participant to leave not only having attended a conference, but having experienced NCHU's academic energy and the character of central Taiwan.
ICSSI 2026 drew approximately 160 scholars, researchers, and industry experts from Taiwan and abroad, with international participants making up around 22% of attendees, representing 10 countries and regions — including Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, Canada, Vietnam, and Thailand. This diverse mix of backgrounds enriched discussions on service science, AI applications, healthcare, sports technology, sustainable services, and cross-cultural adaptation with a genuinely international perspective.
Beyond paper presentations and keynote speeches, CoM placed particular emphasis on how meaningful exchange actually happens. The conference program included workshops, forums, a dinner reception, and cultural excursions — creating space for scholars to build deeper collaborative connections not just through formal research exchange, but through shared experiences and informal interaction.
On the final day, a cultural and sustainability tour extended the conference beyond the campus to Chung-Hsing New Village, the Paper Dome in Puli's Taomi Community, and Sun Moon Lake — giving international guests a firsthand look at NCHU's commitment to university social responsibility, regional revitalization, and sustainability practice, and underscoring how seriously CoM takes local connection as part of its internationalization efforts.
The College of Management extends its thanks to all guests, scholars, faculty, staff, and student volunteers who made ICSSI 2026 possible. Its success stands as a demonstration of CoM's growing international capacity, and opens the door to further cross-border research collaboration and sustainable innovation in the years ahead.
